Welcome to Medistate Obesity Center

Obesity, characterized by the excessive accumulation of body fat, is a precursor to a multitude of health issues, spanning from respiratory and cardiovascular diseases to sleep apnea and cancer. The key to overcoming this challenge lies in early intervention, yielding far-reaching benefits. A pivotal metric used to gauge obesity is the Body Mass Index (BMI), computed by dividing an individual’s body mass by the square of their height. A BMI exceeding 30 signifies obesity, while a BMI exceeding 35 classifies as morbid obesity.

Medistate Obesity Center’s Comprehensive, Targeted Approach

To achieve sustainable success in treating obesity, the identification and elimination of underlying factors are paramount. Without addressing these factors, weight loss tends to be short-lived, with recurrent health complications. A mere 10% reduction in body weight over six months can significantly mitigate obesity-related issues. However, if the root causes remain unaddressed, patients often regain the lost weight, undermining long-term recovery prospects.

At Medistate Obesity Center, our approach is grounded in the identification of these causal factors, and we deploy a synergistic, multidisciplinary strategy to determine the most effective treatment modality for each patient. This collaborative method involves the coordinated efforts of various medical disciplines, including Obesity Surgery, Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases, Nutrition and Diet, Physical Treatment and Rehabilitation, and Psychology clinics. The patient undergoes a thorough assessment within this multidisciplinary framework, culminating in the selection of the most appropriate treatment approach.

By uniting the expertise of diverse medical specialties, we empower our patients with a holistic and tailored strategy that not only addresses the immediate challenges posed by obesity but also lays the foundation for a healthier, more fulfilling future. At Medistate Obesity Center, we believe that every individual deserves a comprehensive and personalized approach to combat obesity and embark on a transformative journey towards improved well-being.
